FCS Community Management faculty regularly teaches two different courses several times each year. For anyone living in a Community Association who wants to learn more about community associations the New Owner Orientation course is Community Associations from A to Z.

For a more immersive educational experience, FCS Community Management proudly partners with the Community Associations Institute to offer the five module Board Leadership Development Workshop, taught by our CEO & President and National Faculty Member – Michael Johnson.

The Board Leadership Development Workshop teaches you how to communicate with association residents, hire qualified managers and service providers, develop enforceable rules, interpret governing documents and more. It provides a comprehensive look at the roles and responsibilities of community association leaders and conveys information to help create and maintain the kind of community people want to call home.

The workshop consists of five modules taught over four months:

  • Module 1 (February 25): Governing Documents and Roles & Responsibilities
  • Module 2 (March 24): Communications, Meetings and Volunteerism
  • Module 3 (April 28: Fundamentals of Financial Management
  • Module 4 & 5 (May 26: Professional Advisors and Service Providers & Association Rules and Conflict Resolution

The next course will be taught the fourth Thursday of February, March, April and May from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (8:30 p.m. in May) at our Draper office – 12159 Business Park Drive, Suite 100, Draper, UT 84020.
