Our Story
Our CEO and owner, Michael Johnson, was elected President of the association where he purchased his first home. He quickly learned there were many responsibilities in this new role, and as he learned more and worked to make his association run better, he knew he could share what he learned to help others. Two years later, in 1999, Michael took the leap and started Future Community Services, Inc. – known today as the HOALiving Network – from his dining table.
Now, with over 130 employees, working out of 7 states, HOALiving has spread from a Utah company to serving nationwide. HOALiving companies manage more homes and associations in the states they serve, than any other locally or nationally owned company. We are often the only portfolio Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) in the regions we serve.
HOALiving earned its Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) designation due to our employees’ advanced training through Community Associations Institute (CAI). At HOALiving, we ensure our people have the skills and knowledge to handle a variety of issues, and we provide our communities with the professional partnerships they deserve. Only 264 firms have the AAMC designation worldwide. HOALiving not only maintains AAMC’s standards, we exceed them!
As our expertise and knowledge have grown and developed in community association management and related services, we have created or acquired several affiliated companies that make up the HOALiving Network: A+ Association Accounting, CAM Community Association Management, Custom Consult, FCS Community Management, FCS Rentals, FCS Home Sales, Idaho HOALiving, HOALiving Minnesota, MAX Maintenance, Splash Pool Services and TMC - The Management Company of Management Companies.

Our management teams are highly trained in interpreting governing documents and offering sound advice to boards. We also stay up-to-date on state and federal legislation. Ultimately, we are not attorneys, but we work closely with legal representatives when needed and are able to recommend professional partnerships.
Our mission is “Building community one neighborhood at a time, through relationships, knowledge and innovation.” This means we are constantly on the lookout for new technology that will benefit our clients. We put considerable time and resources into investigation before implementation, and we are involved in user groups to report feedback and inspire change.
An excellent example of this is our adoption of owner portals from Vantaca.
Our owner portals allow for complete transparency with real-time reporting of all financial information for boards to access. Individual homeowners are able to see their own accounts and set up auto-pay.
We are always learning and always networking. Many of our managers are members of local CAI chapters, and our CEO is on CAI’s Board of Trustees. He is also a national and international faculty member. We attend conferences and industry events in order to learn from other management professionals. Then, we host free, monthly webinars to educate our clients and all interested parties.
At HOALiving, we educate ourselves in order to educate others. We appreciate tradition while redefining industry best practices in accordance with what’s best for the people we serve.
Our team structure is specifically designed to provide our clients with the support they need - timely and personal. Each association is assigned a Community Manager who is assisted by a Community Specialist. They know their communities inside and out, and they are available to their homeowners. We are proud to offer Extended Customer Service via call, text, email and online chat, as well as 24/7 Emergency Services, in order to make ourselves even more accessible to our valued clients.
